Baby Jesus came … not to be redeemed, but to be the Redeemer! God in the flesh takes His place, standing in for humanity!
The shepherds came to visit baby Jesus; but when they were finished, they … returned to their sheep! Why? Because that was their God-given task, the way they honoured God!
The choir of angels… Eagerly proclaiming the birth of their Lord … Why were they so overjoyed? They had come to celebrate the long last fulfillment of the promise!
Another Christmas is gone, but God’s indescribable gift of Christ continues!
The angels’ words to the shepherds: “Unto you…” This means that Jesus is … ours! And We are His! What could be more wonderful?
The shepherds watched over their flocks by night. Jesus watches over us just as carefully. He knows when we are hurting. We can trust Him forever.
Mary and Joseph did the best they could with what they had in that dirty stable. And God did His best too, giving us His beloved Son Jesus!
