The shepherds came to visit baby Jesus; but when they were finished, they … returned to their sheep! Why? Because that was their God-given task, the way they honoured God!
The choir of angels… Eagerly proclaiming the birth of their Lord … Why were they so overjoyed? They had come to celebrate the long last fulfillment of the promise!
The angels’ words to the shepherds: “Unto you…” This means that Jesus is … ours! And We are His! What could be more wonderful?
The shepherds watched over their flocks by night. Jesus watches over us just as carefully. He knows when we are hurting. We can trust Him forever.
Mary and Joseph did the best they could with what they had in that dirty stable. And God did His best too, giving us His beloved Son Jesus!
God’s gift to the world — a baby, a son. God Himself come in the flesh to be one of us…
Jesus left Heaven to … share our lives! He did it for love, sharing His own everlasting life with us. That’s what Christmas is all about!
Jesus: Our caregiver! Perhaps He learned this from Joseph! Either way, He came, He had mercy on us, and He put His own body between us and danger.
What’s in a name, and why does Jesus need two of them? Could it be that He is far too wonderful to be described by only 1 name?
