What do you do when your innocent action brings unintended harm? You run to Jesus!
God has in fact already come into the world as a human being—to visit and redeem His people. He didn’t write a letter or do a phone call. He came Himself.
God is with you, too—no matter how terrible your situation is, or how helpless and alone you feel. He has not abandoned you. He will not give you up.
This is the way God chose to enter the world—subject to human laws, even the annoying ones; subject to the uncertainties and dangers of ordinary life; subject to, well, everything.
God knows we need other people; He could have made Mary do it all on her own, but did not. Even Jesus did not do it all on His own—He chose twelve apostles, and had many, many more who loved and followed Him—including you.
The name Jesus shows us God’s heart for us, and it is a heart full of love!
Who would send a baby to war?
Jesus, referred to as the “Son of David”… David was known as the “man after God’s own heart”. Help us to trust like David did!
God chose a man to be the earthly father of Jesus, and in his human way, Joseph reflects God the Father, wise, slow to anger, quick to show mercy and kindness.
You may be doing something as simple and lovely as growing a garden. Whatever it is, you entrust it to the faithful God who has watched over it, and you, from the beginning.
