Look Up

by | Oct 9, 2022 | Focus, Perspective

“A Song of Ascents. I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth…”

(Psalm 121:1-2 ESV)

“They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption. For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved.”

(2 Peter 2:19 ESV)

When you are feeling down, look up. Hold your head high and smile. You could be surprised how much a smile will brighten your day and change your attitude. Plus you never know who else might need one of your smiles.

What does looking down do you anyway? Depression, sadness, bitterness to name a few, come from always looking down. Anxiety, trouble with nerves, isolating yourself from friends and family also cause you to look down.

Well my friends, it’s time for a change. It’s time to look up to where your help comes from. It comes from God. Your help comes from God.

Are you having problems praying? Repent and step away from the sin that is keeping you from a close walk with God. You don’t have to live there anymore. Sin is not a good place to live. It just drags you further and further away from God. It’s time brothers and sisters to stop what we are doing and take stock of our lives. Are we living for God or have we stepped away?

2 Peter 2:19 says, “…whatever overcomes a person enslaves them.” (ESV) What has overcome you?

No matter what it is, lust, love of money, lies, stealing, whatever. It’s not too late to change. But don’t think too long. There’s not a lot of time left. It’s time to look  up to where our help comes from. It comes from God.

Have a blessed day everyone.
