Is Love Important?

by | Nov 4, 2024 | Love

“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.”

(1 Corinthians 13:4-8 ESV)

According to Oxford Languages, love is “an intense feeling of deep affection.”

Do you think it’s important to love one another? Some people make it really hard to love them. But we need to anyway. A friend used to say, “I love you, but I don’t really like you right now.”

I found this in WikiHow:

“Love is mentioned 310 times in the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible.
The word “love” is a frequent flier in both the Old and New Testaments. The same is the case for the New King James Version (NKJV), a slightly updated version of the original KJV that features the word “love” a total of 361 times. Here’s a look at where some other popular translations stack up:

New Living Translation (NLT): 645 times
New International Version (NIV): 574 times
English Standard Version (ESV): 551 times
North American Standard Bible 2020 (NASB20): 348 times.”

(From WikiHow)

I think God wants us to know how important it is that we love one another. He loves us and wants us to love Him first, then love others. Is it always easy to love others? Absolutely not. Some people just make it really difficult to love them. But we need to. If we show others the love of God, then they will know how much they are loved. They will be reassured of being loved by someone.

So I ask you today to show someone the love God has for them. And let God show you how much He loves you.

Have a blessed day, everyone.
