“Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I will be saved, for you are my praise.” (Jeremiah 17:14 ESV)
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalms 147:3 ESV)
A wise person told me yesterday, “If we dont hurt we dont heal. If everything was sugar plums and roses we wouldn’t need Jesus.”
Sometimes we have to go though bad times to appreciate the good times. If we didn’t go through rough patches, we won’t know when we are on the right road.
But even if we do stray from our path, Jesus will rescue us.
Jesus is a lot of things. When we mess up, and we do, he readily forgives us when we ask. He will heal us. Not just physical healing either. Jesus will heal our hurt feelings and broken hearts. He protects us. Have you ever felt like you were going off the rails and that little voice took you another direction? Hmm. Jesus? He loves us unconditionally. When was the last time someone loved you that way? Probably never, if I had to guess.
He won’t abandon you when you are going through a rough patch. He will stay right by your side, loving and guiding you. He is compassionate, gracious, slow to anger and abounds with love. And believe it or not, he does not treat us like we should be treated. He treats us with love and compassion even if we don’t deserve it.
So when you are having problems, turn to Jesus. He will see you through it.
