For we walk by faith, not by sight.
(2 Corinthians 5:7 ESV)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
(Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV)
I spent a lot of years working in healthcare. ADLs are Activities of Daily Living, including things like dressing, bathing, cooking, etc. For those who don’t know, nurses and CNAs have to fill in a bunch of paperwork on each patient regarding how well they can accomplish their own ADLs. I have filled out a lot of those papers.
But one thing none of them ever included was any mention of God or church. A lot of my residents would attend church services when offered. In fact, most of them looked forward to it. That was always encouraging to me. Some attended just for something to do but most truly wanted to be closer to God. Then you have the impatient gentleman who set off the fire alarm because he wanted to hear the church bells. The lady I remember most was pleasant no matter what happened. She always had a religious channel on her radio and read her Bible. When she passed, her last words were, “Oh look how beautiful my new home is.” I look forward to looking her up when I finally go home too.
Sadly, ADLs don’t include God or church but I really hope you include Him in your life. God is waiting for you to turn to Him for help. He is listening for your voice to call out to Him. Call on Him today. Include God in your life. You are included in His.
Have a great day.
