Talking to God

by | Oct 25, 2024 | Call to Prayer, Prayer, Relationship

“Likewise, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.”

(Romans 8:26 ESV)

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”

(Philippians 4:6 ESV)

“But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

(Matthew 6:6 ESV)

Do you pray? Do you pray a few short words and quit? Or do you talk to God like you talk to a friend?

I will confess. I am guilty of quicky prayers sometimes. But I also will pour my heart out to God at other times. Every morning before I am even out of bed, I say good morning to God and ask how His night was. I know there is no night in heaven, but I ask anyway. Then I talk to Him.

There are times when I don’t know how to pray, so I start praying in tongues. And before long, it seems I’ve hit it, and it gets easier to pray. I don’t think God minds how we pray as long as we talk to Him. He loves us and wants to hear from His children. In times of stress or problems, I really pour my heart to God. I know He already knows what’s going on and how it will turn out. But I still tell Him.

Isn’t that what you would do with your dad? If you had a decent dad who would listen to you? Mine not so much. But my Heavenly Father will listen, and He will fix it. I may have to go through some things first, but God will fix it for me. I just need to be patient. So, if you are having issues, cry out to God. Pour your heart out to Him. Let Him know and then wait for Him to fix it.

Have a fabulous day, everyone.  And remember God loves you, and so do I.
