“With a long life, I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
(Psalm 91:16 ESV)
“You shall walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live, and that it may go well with you, and that you may live long in the land that you shall possess.“
(Deuteronomy 5:33 ESV)
“Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life.“
(Proverbs 16:31 ESV)
How old are you?
I am proud to say I am pushing 70. Next July I will be 70 years old. I never dreamed I would live this long. I did some pretty stupid things in my youth. I love life most of the time. Other times, I am ready to go home to glory. But it’s not my time yet, so here I am.
God knows how long we will live, but there are a few things I don’t understand. For example: Why do babies die before they even have a chance to live? Or why do kids get cancer? Give them a chance at life first. But then why do people, like my grandma, live to 102? She had dementia and was totally dependent on others for daily care. She even had to be fed each meal. Why did she live so long, and babies or young adults die young?
Only God can answer these questions. I am making a list I plan on asking when I do get to go home. For instance, what’s up with slugs and snails? A snail is an upscale slug. The only difference I see is a shell. Platypus. Did God have leftover parts and threw them together so He didn’t have to store them?
He did have some good ideas that I don’t question. A beautiful sunrise or sunset. A babies smile, a warm hug from a child. Family. Whether biological, adopted into, or church. Family is important. Friends are important, too. But the most important thing is God. I do not question God’s love. I know He loves me. He loves you too.
Have a great day, everyone.
