I was watching a movie yesterday. The statement was made, “Before you can have a relationship with others, you need to have a relationship with God.” I got to thinking about that. How is my relationship with God?
I will admit, it needs work. But as long as I am breathing, I can work on it. God loves me and will help me if I let Him.
So many times, distractions come. I think I have to get this or that done. In reality, the only thing that really matters is how I think about God. Is He just someone I talk to and pray to? Is He someone I go to when I have issues and problems? Is He just a passing phase in my life?
All valid questions. But to me, God is my one true love. He loves me, and I love Him. He is someone I talk and pray to. I live alone, and it gets lonely at times, but I have God to talk to. He is always right here beside me. He cheers me on when I am struggling. He holds me when I just feel like I can’t go on. He gives me comfort and peace. He provides for me.
As for a passing phase. No! He is not a passing phase in my life. I need God way more than He needs me. But I thank God that He loves me regardless of how stupid I can be. He loves me!! And I love Him!!
How is your relationship with God? If you are honest, it probably needs a little work, too. Let’s work on our relationship with God.
