He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.Psalm 1:3 ESV
But when the sun rose they were scorched. And since they had no root, they withered away.Matthew 13:6 ESV
I am not a gardener. I do not have a green thumb. Giving me a plant is like giving it a death sentence. But my mom could grow anything and always had plants in the house. I would watch her repot plants from time to time.
If you remember to water your plants, they will grow. Eventually the plant will become root bound and stop growing if you don’t keep giving it more room. We can become root bound too. If we don’t stay in the word, our life can stagnate and we can become dull. This is not the time to become dull. The devil is out to get everyone he can. Don’t be one of them. He wants us worried and anxious about things so our focus is off God and His plans for us. God has wonderful plans for each of us. We need to be rooted in Him so we can fulfill those plans.
What if you just kind of skated along in life, with no real purpose or plans? Could God still use you? Of course, but would He? If you aren’t firmly rooted in God, can you fulfill the plans He has for you? Think about it.
I don’t know the answer. I just know my roots run deep. How deep are your roots? Do you need repotted? Are you root bound? There’s a fix for it. Dig into the Word. See what God has to say.
Have a great day everyone.
