“Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.” (Psalm 55:22 KJV).
Dearly beloved and friends,right from the foundation of the earth,the Lord God Almighty has made provision for every need of man.He is very willing to give us access to them if and only if we recognize His ability to do so and we exercise our faith and love for Him in it all. (See Romans 8:32; Philippians 4:19, Psalm 2:8)
Why then do we unnecessarily carry burdens?
- We feel we can make it on our own and get things fixed without our Maker (See Proverbs 3:5-7).
- Because of the deception of the wicked one,the devil and his hosts (See Genesis 3:1-4).
- Because of our lustful desires (See James 4:3).
- Lack of faith due to fear (See Isaiah 41:10).
Examples:Of cast burdens:
- Ruth: She trusted her tomorrow in the hands of the God of Naomi (See Ruth 1:16-17). Result: She became progenitor of Jesus.
- Naaman the Leper: Relied on the ability of God of Elisha to wipe away his leprosy (See 2 Kings 5:14-15). Result: His flesh became like a new baby.
- Hannah: Having gone through the trauma of barrenness and sorrowful harassment, she laid her burden on the Altar at Shilo (See 1 Samuel 1:15-2). Result:God gave her Samuel the great Prophet
- YOU: Why are languishing under that burden/care? Give it to the burden bearer and you will have rest for your soul (See Matthew 11:28)
What to do:
- Forget your past and realign afresh with God.
- Have faith in God,no problem is unsolvable.
- No matter how long you have waited,don’t give up now,persevere in the place of prayer.
- Reject that burden and cast it on the Lord.
Prayer Points:In Jesus name:
- Father, I thank You ,because You care for me and will never abandon me nor forsake me.
- Father, I surrender all to You,please hold my hands and lead me on in Your own way.
- Father, let me rejoice in You and have peace unspeakable, as I cast all my cares on You.
- Father, from today let songs of praises unto Your name, never cease from my lips. Amen
