“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” (Matthew 5:8 ESV)
“Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.” (Proverbs 4:23 ESV)
I saw this on Facebook yesterday:
“Mirror, mirror on the wall.
It doesn’t matter if I’m short or tall,
if I have skinny legs or my hips are wide.
It only matters who I am inside.
Blue eyes, brown eyes,
black or green,
what makes me beautiful
cannot be seen.
When you look at me
don’t judge me by my parts.
The most beautiful thing about me
is my heart.”
I have been told I have a good heart. I know what people mean when then say that. And it warms my heart to hear it. I try to be nice and love others all the time. Some people make it hard. I was searching for scriptures last night. I came across the question, “What does God’s heart mean?” So I read a little further. The answer was, “Being a person after God’s own heart means that your life is in harmony with God. You are in sync with God.”
I think I have a little ways to go for that. But that is my desire. To be totally in sync with God.
I know I need to pray in tongues more, read my Bible more and just seek His face more. Life gets things twisted and complicated more often than not. We get busy with our lives and push God to the background. What we need to do is push things back and bring God back to front and center of our lives.
God has a heart for His children and we need to have a heart for Him. After all, He is our Father and He loves us more than anyone else does.
I like that little poem above. It says to me that it doesn’t matter what I look like, if I have designer or bargain basement clothes, God doesn’t care. God looks at our hearts, not our clothes or body type. So let’s decide to get our hearts in tune and seek God’s heart.
Have a great day.
