Can You Relate?

by | Sep 22, 2021 | Perception, Self-Pity, Victory

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” (Romans 12:2 ESV)

The rich and the poor meet together; the Lord is the maker of them all.” (Proverbs 22:2 ESV)

I heard this song twice within 15 minutes on my way to church yesterday. God said here. Take it and run with it. This was written while sitting in the church parking lot before church. Can You Relate? Sung by King and Country. This is the chorus:

“I don’t know what it’s like to be you.
You don’t know what it’s like to be me.
What if we’re all the same in different kinds of ways?
Can you, can you relate?
We both know what it’s like to be hurt.
We both know what it’s like to feel pain.
But I think it’s safe to say we’re on to better days.
Can you, can you relate?”

This is so true. You don’t know what it’s like be me and I don’t know what it’s like to be you. God made us all different. But we do all have similar experiences that we can relate to.

I believe we are all the same but different at the same time. I know that sounds strange. But think about it. We are all human and have the same feelings. How we deal with those feelings make us different. We have all had pain and problems. But how we handle them is what makes us different. How we react to them sets us apart from each other. How we approach the problems in our lives make us different.

Some fall apart and are charter members in the “oh poor me club.” Others take the bull by the horns and come out fighting.

God wants us to be warriors and fight for what’s right. So while we are all the same we are totally unique. So be your unique self today and go tell someone God loves them.

Have a great day.
