Blessed and Highly Favoured

by | Sep 22, 2021 | Blessings, Honor, Priority

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord.” (Jeremiah 17:7 ESV)

“But he said,’Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it.'”
(Luke 11:28 ESV)

People say they are blessed and highly favored. But what does that really mean?

According to google, blessed means “Made holy, consecrated.”

Then we can go a little further and ask what it means to be blessed. Again, according to google, “Being blessed is defined as having had good wishes or a prayer said on someone’s behalf.”

Biblical definition is, “A favor or gift bestowed by God, thereby bringing happiness.” Yes, google again.

So let’s look at favored. Google says, “Preferred or recommended.”

Now let’s look at highly favored. Yes, google defines it too. To be highly favored means, “You are chosen to fulfill a particular task.”

So let’s put it together. If you are blessed and highly favored, you have been made holy and chosen to fulfill a task. That’s what God does. He will choose someone for certain tasks, then equip them to do that task. God doesn’t choose the qualified, He qualifies the chosen. So if he chooses you to do something for him, feel honored and know he will equip you with what you need to do that task. So whatever you are being called to do, do your best and God will help you with the rest.

Have a blessed day.
