“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:6-7 ESV)
“And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?” (Matthew 6:27 ESV)
I was watching a YouTube video of Donald O’Connor tap dancing on roller skates. I thought it was pretty amazing especially since I can’t roller skates or tap dance. This little girl sang to him. She sang:
“Don’t worry about your worries.
They’re not permanent and they won’t linger on.
Troubles are just like lollipops.
They’re here and gone.”
You know, that’s pretty good advice. What we worry about is just for a fleeting moment.
Worries have a way of working themselves out. And if we give them to God to figure out, they can be gone sooner. I have seen so many Facebook posts from a lot of different people about anxiety and stress. I tell you people, the devil is out to get us if we let him. Anxiety and stress is not of God. It comes straight from the pits of hell. The devil knows his time is getting really short and is pulling out all the stops to bring down everyone he can. Don’t be one of those people. You don’t have to live that way. God doesn’t want us living that way.
I used to be that way. I used to fall apart at every little thing that went wrong. But not anymore. I have peace and tranquility. I give my problems to God and walk away from them.
Oh, there are still times that I get upset but once I realize it, I pray. I ask God to take it and he does. I get my joy and smile back. I prefer to smile and be happy than to always be anxious or stressed. So I encourage you today to smile. That is the first step to happiness and being stress free. Then pray. Ask God to do a work in you and take away your stress and anxiety. He will but you have to let him.
Have a great day.
