The Everlasting Rock

by | Feb 27, 2021 | Presence, Strength

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5 ESV)

“Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.” (Isaiah 26:4 ESV)

I heard the song, “Yes I Will”. Here is part of it:
“I count on one thing
The same God that never fails
Will not fail me now
You won’t fail me now
In the waiting
The same God who’s never late
Is working all things out
You’re working all things out
Yes I will, lift You high in the lowest valley
Yes I will, bless Your name
Oh, yes I will, sing for joy when my heart is heavy
All my days, oh yes I will.”

God won’t fail you. He hasn’t failed me. He is always working on our behalf.

You know God has lifted me out of the lowest of low valleys. He lights my way in the dark.

God has a way of lifting me out of dark moods. I can feel myself getting depressed over some issue. Next thing I know, I see something funny. Or a memory from long ago pops into my head and puts a smile on my face.

God is like that. He does have a sense of humor. If you don’t think so, look at some of the strange animals and bugs he created.

My life hasn’t gone like I would have liked it to. But I don’t want to sit and sulk about it. I prefer to smile and enjoy the time I have left. I prefer to spend my time praising God. That is time well spent.

So what do you plan to do? Praise or sulk? I choose to Praise God for all my days.
