I remember the enthusiasm as I heard in my 8 year old son, Keith as he recited Psalm 30:5 – “Weeping may endure for a night, but Joy cometh in the morning”. How proud I was of him. And Oh, how I wished my morning would come; it seemed to us that we were actually living a nightmare. Back then waking up and getting up out of bed, and ready for work was not something I looked forward to. Of course, we have lived through many other nightmares since then, and things turned out pretty well for us.
Keith is still as enthusiastic about the Word of God. He is now 26 years old and happily married. He is an anointed preacher. He together with his wife, leads worship at their church in the State they live in.
Just recently, the Lord sweetly pointed out to me that the joy He was referring to in Psalm 30 had nothing to do with our circumstances. His Word tells us that the “Joy of the Lord is our strength”, and that we need to “wake” ourselves out of our nightmares and let His Joy come in.
So when you wake up in the morning with a dreadful feeling of what lies ahead. “Wake Up” you spirit by proclaiming His Promises.
Arise and shine, for your light has come, and the Spirit of the Lord has risen upon you. Put on the garments of Praise before you leave your home, and don’t forget the Full Armor of God. The call things that are not as though they were, bless your house and job, even your enemies. This is how your Heavenly Father wants you to start your days. Only then, could you bask in the Glory of His Son.
In Christ, Nancy Reindl
