Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
(Proverbs 3;5-6 ESV)
Have you ever felt trapped, like you’re doing the same thing over and over? Maybe you’re in a rut.
The thing about ruts, the more you are in them, the deeper they get and the harder it is to get out of. Are you in a rut? What is the cause of your rut? I know the cause of mine and I’m working on it. God is showing me things about my ruts. The main thing about one of the ruts is overeating. That is a bad thing for me. I have lost a little over 200 pounds since 2004. It’s taken me 22 years to lose it. But I finally found the right person to help me. My dietician has helped me out of this rut. At least partially out. I still have a ways to go but I am addicted to food and fall back into the old habit of eating too much of the wrong food.
But I have turned it over to God. He is helping me overcome my ruts. I can count three ruts right now but there may be more. God will show me those ruts and then will be a gentleman and ask if I am ready to let go of them. He will not force us to go against our free will. God loves us and He gave us free will for a reason. He wants us to freely choose to follow His will for our lives. By freely choosing Him, we will be more open to the things He has for us.
So if you are in a rut, or several ruts, turn to God and ask him for help. He will not withhold His help.
Have a blessed day.
