Likewise, the Spirit helps us with our weaknesses. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
(Romans 8:26-27 ESV)
You just go somewhere quiet and sit at the feet of the Lord, and you say “I don’t know.”
1. I don’t know where to go from here.
2. I don’t know what’s happening.
3. I don’t know how to process this.
4. I don’t know what to do with these emotions.
5. I don’t know how to handle this situation.
Then with whatever little grain of faith you have left, you say, “But You know.” And you leave it there. God has certainly heard your prayer. God hears our prayers even if we don’t think they are getting to Him.
There are times when I feel like my prayers are being stopped. It feels like I’m walking through knee-deep mud trying to pray. But then there are times when I pray that there is no barrier. My prayers are sailing upward.
So why the big difference?
All I can say is it’s me. There are days when nothing gets me down and I can pray all day and feel like I’m moving mountains. But then other days when I get bogged down and have trouble just thanking God for all He’s done for me. But those days are when I really need to hit it hard. Then things begin to break and I feel like I’ve made progress.
So my advice is to keep praying no matter what. God hears every one of them whether we think so or not.
Have a blessed day, everyone.
