Too Grateful to be Hateful

by | Nov 22, 2024 | Gratitude, Thankfulness

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

(2 Timothy 2:15 ESV)

“Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(Ephesians 5:20 ESV)

According Oxford Languages, grateful is “feeling or showing an appreciation of kindness; thankful.” Oxford Languages defines hateful as “very unpleasant.”

Life is too short to worry about what others think about you. Does it really matter if someone doesn’t like you? You always have someone who actually loves you. That person is Jesus. He will never forsake you. He will never speak badly about you either.

Are you grateful for what Jesus does for you? Or just because He did one thing you now expect Him to do everything for you? Jesus isn’t someone who just hands you things on a silver platter. I’m not saying that He won’t take care of you. I’m saying that He won’t just give you everything.

Now let me ask this. Do you thank God for things you get? Are you grateful that He takes care of you? You should be. He likes to be thanked just like you do. So the next time you decide to be hateful to someone, stop and think about it. That is not the action Jesus would want you to do. So remember the title. Too Grateful to Be Hateful.

Have a blessed day, everyone.
