“Submit yourselves, therefore, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
(James 4:7 ESV)
“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.”
(1 Peter 5:8-9 ESV)
A friend sent me this yesterday: “When the devil keeps trying to make you look at your past, there’s something in your future he doesn’t want you to see.”
I have been thinking about my past. Mainly about things I could have done differently or not at all. All I can say is that God has something coming, and the devil is trying to discourage me so he can stop it.
I’m not saying to not remember your past. Just don’t dwell on the bad parts. And we all have bad parts.
Thanksgiving is coming up. I am going to my brother and sister in laws house. We are all getting older, and they want us all to get together. That’s a time when we talk about family. We rehash family times, remembering the good times. It’s always a fun time when we do that. They have memories I don’t, and I have memories they don’t. Those are times when only good things are remembered. The devil is not there for good reason. Good times. Nothing bad comes out of our mouths.
That is something we should all do. Do not let anything bad come out of your mouth or even cross your mind. Fight the devil with positive thoughts and words. Stay strong and fight the devil with laughter and a positive attitude.
Have a blessed day, everyone.
