“A Psalm for giving thanks. Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!”
(Psalm 100:1-2 ESV)
I love the old-time hymns. I grew up with them. Amazing Grace, Are You Washed in The Blood, There’s Power in The Blood, just to name a few. I’m not saying the newer songs aren’t good, but there’s just something about the old hymns.
In the scripture, it says to make a joyful noise. No where does it say you have to have a good voice. It just says joyful. God doesn’t care what you sound like, He just wants your praise. He wants a joyful noise. God inhabits our praise. The more we praise Him, the happier we will be. I have noticed that if I am having a bad day, if I start singing praises to God, things get better. Whatever the problem was, it doesn’t seem so bad after even just a few minutes of singing, or even just talking, praises to Him.
So, if you are having issues or problems, start praising God. Thank Him in advance for taking care of whatever.
