Let’s face it, bad things happen. We all have bad days. But we don’t have to let them get us down.
We have someone waiting to help us. He is on call 24/7, 365 days a year, 366 on leap years. He never sleeps or takes a day off. That someone is Jesus. He will never leave us or forsake us, no matter what.
Did you know that when you are having a bad day, the Bible is filled with uplifting verses? Just pull out your Bible and search for them. For example:
a. If you need encouragement read Joshua 1:9: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be terrified, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (NIV)
b. If you need strength read Isaiah 40:29: “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” (NIV)
c. How about joy? Running low? Read Psalm 126:5: “Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy.” (NIV)
d. Blessings? Try Psalm 37:4: “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” (NIV)
e. Are you lacking trust? Read Jeremiah 17:7: “But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him.” (NIV)
Convinced yet? Here’s another one.
f. Endurance. Read Psalm 125:1: “Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.” (NIV)
g. Need a little mercy? Try Lamentations 3:22: “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail.” (NIV)
h. But after it’s all said and done, it all comes down to praise. Psalm 150:6 “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.” (NIV)
Those are a few examples. God may bring this around again in the future. But for now, read your Bible. You will be amazed at the things you will learn.
Have a great day everyone.
