Press On

by | Sep 16, 2022 | Overcome, Perserverance, Persistence, Strength

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.”

(Hebrews 12:1 ESV)

“Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead.”

(Philippians 3:13 ESV)

I saw this on Facebook yesterday:

“If you rearrange the letters in ‘depression’, you get ‘I pressed on.’
You’re current situation is not your final destination.”

Pretty good advice if you ask me. I know of a lot of people who claim to be depressed. I want to encourage you today. If you have depression, change it into “I pressed on.” You can change your situation by changing your attitude.

Attitude plays a big part of our lives. If you go around being negative all the time, “Nothing good ever happens to me. If it wasn’t for bad luck…” You get the point. But if you change your attitude into a positive one, it will attract positive actions.  Do you like to be around positive people? God wants us happy. He wants us positive. God wants us to press on towards the goal He has for us. Goals to help others, be a beacon of light in this world of darkness and to show others the way to Him. But if we are living in the darkness of depression, we can’t be a light for the world. We just can’t shine brightly if we are in darkness.

So I encourage you today to press on. Press on and bring yourself and others out of the darkness.

Have a blessed day everyone.
