“Father’s do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” (Ephesians 6:4 ESV)
Father’s! We all had one. Some are still here and some have passed on.
What constitutes a father? To me it would be someone who loves me for who I am and wants to take care of me. Someone who will protect me. Some of us had, or still have, great dads while some not so great. Some took off for parts unknown, never to be seen or heard from again. But regardless of our earthly fathers, we have a heavenly Father who does love us unconditionally. He loves us regardless. No conditions, no you do this and I will love you.
Today is Father’s day. If your dad is still with you, love on him today. Show him how much you love him. If you didn’t get him a gift, shame on you. But you can still hit Walmart after church and get him something. If your dad, like mine, has gone on to heaven, it’s ok. He is enjoying it there. But you also have God. You can wish him a happy father’s day. He is our dad too.
So to all the father’s out there, HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! We love you and enjoy your day.
