Don’t Give Up

by | Feb 22, 2022 | Persistence, Trust

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

Galatians 6:9 ESV

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Isaiah 41:10 ESV

There is a poem by Edgar Guest called Keep Going. The following is the first verse:

“When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
And the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.”

Keep Going by Edgar Guest

Do you feel like you’re trying to walk in thick mud? Does your way seem hard? Then rest but don’t you dare quit. You weren’t made to be a quitter. God created you to be victorious.

I felt like I have struggled against everything this past week. But I will overcome. The following is the last verse of the poem:

“Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are.
It may be near when it seems afar.
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit.
It’s when things seem worst that You musn’t quit.”

Keep Going by Edgar Guest

My prayer partner and I were praying last night and God reinforced this last verse to me. He told me I never know how close I am to a breakthrough. Keep going, don’t quit now. I have been praying about a couple of issues and that confirmed for me it’s going to be ok. God has it under control.

Whatever you have going on, give it to God and let Him work it out. He has a way of working all things out for our good anyway. So if you have been hit hard, and feel like giving up, don’t. Keep going, your breakthrough could be just around the corner.

Have a great day everyone.
