“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Psalm 119:105 ESV)
“He leads the humble in what is right and teaches the humble his way.” (Psalm 25:9 ESV)
It’s no secret that I am getting older. Things come up, like life insurance salesmen. I guess they think I am going to pass on soon. I’m not complaining about life insurance salesmen. But do they have to open their sales pitch with, “You know you are not getting any younger?”
But it got me to thinking about my last few minutes here on earth. And by the way, I do have life insurance. Anyway, when my time is up here and I am headed to my forever home, I can see Jesus welcoming me home. His arms outstretched, ready to give me a hug.
I was listening to gospel music last night and heard Take My Hand, Precious Lord. Here is part of it:
“Precious Lord, take my hand.Take My Hand, Precious Lord
Lead me on, let me stand.
I am tired, I’m weak, I am worn.
Through the storm, through the night.
Lead me on to the light.
Take my hand, precious Lord.
Lead me home.”
That is what I want when my time is up. I want my Lord to take my hand and lead me home. I can be a little directionally challenged at times. This is one trip I do not want to get turned around on.
None of us know how long we have left. Today is a good day to renew your relationship with Jesus. If you have strayed away, just not as close as you want to be or whatever. Just say you’re sorry and ask forgiveness. He will forgive you. He will welcome you with open arms. Don’t wait too long though. It only takes a minute to repent. Think about it. What if today is your last day? Are you ready?
Have a blessed day everyone. And stay safe. God bless you all.
