“A joyful heart makes a cheerful coutenance, but sorrow of the heart crushes the spirit.” (Proverbs 15:13 NKJ)
“Anxiety weighs down the heart of a man, but a good word cheers it up.” (Proverbs 12:25 NKJ)
Did you know that negative draws negative? The more negative words we put out there, the more they come back to us.
The same with positive words. If we put out positive words, they come back to us too.
I had a friend once, I have friends now too, but this one was so negative. Nothing positive ever came out of her mouth. When asked why, her reply was, “I have never had anything good ever happen to me.” My reply, “That’s not true. You woke up this morning, you have a nice home, clothes to wear, your husband has a good job, your kids are doing good in school, there’s food on your table and your cars are paid off. Those are pretty positive things.” It didn’t help. She replied she was made this way. But she wasn’t.
That is a sad way to live. Maybe if she had changed her attitude she would have had a better life. God did not created us to go around with a doom and gloom attitude. Negativity spreads like wildfire. It’s really no fun to be around. So let’s put a smile on our beautiful or handsome faces. Let’s a spread positive attitude. The world can be a better place if we are not a negative Nancy all the time.
Have a great and safe Labor Day weekend.
