Run a Good Race

by | Apr 23, 2021 | Dependency, Persistence

“For by you I can run through a troop and by my God I can leap over a wall. This God , his way is perfect; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.” (Psalm 18:29-30 ESV)

“But they who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31 ESV)

I have never been a runner but I admire those who do run. As an adult, the only time I would run is if something was chasing me. But now not so much. But I do still run a race. Most of the time it’s not a hard race to run, it does require endurance though.

I am talking about life. It’s a race against time.

They say time waits for no one, or something like that. And it’s true. One day you are holding your newborn baby and next thing you know that child is graduating college. Next thing is in laws, grandbabies and so on.

But life isn’t always a bed of roses. Strife comes up, hurt feelings, anger.

But there is a solution to all of this. God. Give your problems to God. He is the problem solver. There isn’t a problem that he doesn’t have a solution for. You just have to trust him and give him time to work it out. You see, our timing is not the same as God’s and his is always perfect. I have tried it both ways. God’s ways are always best. So I want to encourage everyone today to keep fighting. Keep running this race called life and stay strong in God.
