“hallowed be your name” (Matthew 6:9b NIV)

By definition hallowed means sanctified, consecrated, sacred and holy, but when applied to God Almighty, it is becomes much more than dry words on a page. It is precious treasure, sweeping into our hearts and stirring our lips to worship and praise the name of the Lord. It defies definition.

I am reminded of what Isaiah saw as recorded in Chapter 6:1-3:

“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.'” (NIV)

Father, we worship you because You are worthy. We praise You; we adore You; we thank You for Your many blessings. You are great and mighty, our strong tower, our guide when we are lost in the darkness. There was none before You and there will be none after You. You are Alpha and Omega the beginning and the end, our need supplier, our all in all, our Savior and our King, Jehovah-Jireh (our provider) Jehovah-Rafah (our healer), forever and ever. Amen and amen.

Join us for next for Part Seven and hear that the Word of God teaches about our work here on earth as we eagerly await the second coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Yours in Christ,
Sonya Richards
