“Let us then, with confidence, draw near to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
(Hebrews 4:16 ESV)
“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved.”
(Ephesians 2:4-5 ESV)
This is what you were going to get today: “Sorry, everyone. I’ve been sick all weekend and slept all day yesterday. I will be back soon.”
But God had other plans. He let me sleep most of the day yesterday and all night last night. But in the wee hours of morning, I woke up, and God said, “this is what you will write on.”
God is merciful. He allows us to go through things just so we see how merciful He can be. God’s mercy extends to all of us. We need God’s mercy just to get up every day. If it wasn’t for the mercy of God, where would we be? God stops a lot of things we don’t even know about.
So the next time you think God isn’t merciful, think back on your life. Look at the times that you could have been hurt in an accident. Think about it. God has a way of keeping us safe even if we don’t know it.
Have a great day, everyone.
