As another birthday nears, I was thinking back on my life. I have a lot of regrets. But I also have a lot of good memories. My biggest regret is that I strayed away from God at 18 years old. I grew up in church. I had a lot of fun in my church. But I also got hurt there. That’s why I left after I graduated high school. I decided I didn’t have time for church since I was working full time and every other weekend. I needed my free time. Yeah, right. But that is what I thought.
I was thinking about my mom. I miss her but know she is happy in heaven. I remember her face when I told her I was going to be baptized. She was so happy. You see, she prayed me back to church, but I didn’t know it at the time. But I am sure glad she did.
Most of my memories are of my mom. Yeah, I have other memories, but my happiest are of mom and the things she did for her kids. I was so sad the day God called mom home, but I was also happy because I knew she was home at last. She was where she longed to be. My hope is that when God calls me home, I will be a happy memory for someone. I hope I have touched lives and made a difference.
