Please Pray for Me

by | Jul 8, 2026 | Call to Prayer, Forgiveness, Intercession, Love, Prayer

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

(James 5:16 ESV)

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be made for all people.

(1 Timothy 2:1 ESV)

Four simple words, please pray for me. I don’t doubt that you have been asked that a few times. You have probably said them yourself occasionally. So, when you are asked that, do you? Do you pray for that person or do you just tell them you will and throw up a God bless them?

I usually ask the ones I know will pray. And they do.

People ask for prayer for all kinds of reasons. I have had prayer requests for healing, relational problems, finding lost items, and finances just to mention a few. Do you think God listens to our prayers? Do you think He really cares?  I think he does on both counts. Do you pray for people who have done you wrong? Do bless them or curse them? There are times I desire to curse them but I don’t.

Jesus commanded us to pray for our enemies. (See Luke 6: 28) It’s hard I know. But we need to. We have to if we want peace. As long as we hold unforgiveness, we won’t fulfill our calling. So let it go. I know it’s hard. I’m struggling with it right now myself. But God is helping me. He is helping me get rid of unforgiveness and bitterness toward this person. It’s not done yet but it’s getting easier. Now when I see this person I don’t want to rip their tongue out anymore. And yes, I pray for this person.

So I want to encourage you today. When you hear the words please pray for me. Pray for them.

Have a fabulous day, everyone.
