“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.“
(2 Timothy 1:7 ESV)
“A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.”
(Proverbs 25:28 ESV)
According to Oxford Language, control is “the power to influence or direct people’s behavior or the course of events.” Have you ever been in control of something? A party or even a dinner? Maybe an important meeting? How did it go?
I have been in control a few times. Sometimes things went well and other times not so good. But it got done never the less.
Have you ever tried to control your walk with God? How did that go for you? It would go well if you were in God’s will for your life. If not, it was probably not so good.
We do have control over things. God will not force us to follow Him. He won’t force us to do anything we don’t want to do. That’s why He gave us free will. Looking at the world and what it’s become today, I welcome God to lead me. Take me by the hand and lead me. You can even get behind me and push if you need to. I know I am not perfect. I don’t pretend to be. I serve the one who is perfect. The one true God.
If you want to control every little thing, more power to you. As for me, God, I give You control of me and my life. I can’t do this without you.
Have a blessed day, everyone.
