Lord I Need You

by | Oct 2, 2024 | Need

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths straight.

(Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV)

“Let us then, with confidence, draw near to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

(Hebrews 4:16 ESV)

Have you ever needed something or someone?

According to Oxford, languages to need something  are “to require something  because it is essential or very important.” You can apply that to needing someone, too. I need people in my life. As I get older, I realize that people mean more to me.

There are times I feel isolated, but I know I am not alone. I have Jesus with me all the time. I just have to be receptive to hear His voice. But the title says it all: Lord, I need you. I need you every second of every day.

There are times when I let my mouth overload myself. Those are the times I need Jesus to put one hand on my shoulders and the other over my mouth. You know, no matter how badly I need people in my life, I need Jesus more. I see the fingerprints of Jesus all over my life.

I look back and see where I walked confidently beside Him and other times where He carried me because I was broken. Jesus is now and forever first in my life. He is the one who always comes through when others fail. And just remember, if He does it for me, He will do it for you too. Jesus doesn’t care if you are a good person or the worst person possible, He loves you just the same.

So next time you feel alone, just know that Jesus is walking with you, or He may just be carrying you at that time.

Have a great day, everyone.
