“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”
(Proverbs 3:5 ESV)
“Casting all your anxieties on him because he cares for you.”
(1 Peter 5:7 ESV)
Today is July 4th. Independence Day for the United States. It’s a time for celebrating with bbq’s and fireworks.
What does independence mean to you? According to Oxford Languages, independence means “free from outside control; not depending on another’s authority.” That’s great unless we are talking about God. I don’t want my independence from Him. I want to be dependent on my loving Heavenly Father because He loves me and takes care of me. Without God’s guidance, I am lost. I can’t function without Him beside me, leading me and fighting for me.
July 4th here means a lot of food and drink. Sadly, a lot of those drinks include alcohol. Please don’t drink and drive. It’s a day people gather to eat, drink, and shoot off fireworks. Please be careful with the fireworks, too. But while you are celebrating, don’t forget to keep God with you.
Have a great day, everyone.
