“A man who is kind benefits himself, but a cruel man hurts himself.”
(Proverbs 11:17 ESV)
“Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.”
(Colossians 3:12 ESV)
I saw this last night, and it made me think a minute:
“Think Before You Speak…
Author Unknown
T-is it true?
H-is it helpful?
I-is it inspiring?
N-is it necessary?
K-is it kind?”
This is how we should be before we speak. How many times do you say something that isn’t exactly nice? Do you wish you hadn’t said that? Once you say something, you can apologize, but it never really goes away. People may forgive you but not forget what was said.
Our words have power. They can cut someone down or build someone up. Words can be a double-edged sword. Be careful how and what you say to others. What you say can be taken the wrong way. What you meant to build up could be taken as a criticism to someone.
I encourage you to think before saying something on anger. Remember, once it’s said, it can’t be taken back.
Have a great day, everyone.
