“Repent, therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out…”
(Acts 3:19 ESV)
“From that time, Jesus began to preach, saying, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”’
(Matthew 4:17 ESV)
“The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”
(2 Peter 3:9 ESV)
Remember, as a kid, you called a “do over” if you messed up? Then, when you grew up, there were no more do overs? Well, guess what? There are do overs in your daily walk with God. He will give you as many do overs that you need to get it right. A do over in God is called repent. If, no, when you mess up, God gives us a chance to repent and get right with Him again. He gives us a do over.
Google defines repent as “feel or express sincere regret or remorse about one’s wrongdoing or sin.” When you repent, do you just say sorry as in casually passing by? Or are you truly sincere? Are you really sorry you sinned? My advice to you is to repent and do it often. God will forgive you every time.
Have a great day, everyone.
