Disappointment

by | Nov 19, 2023 | Disappointment, Surrender

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

(Philippians 4:6-7 ESV)

“And we know that for those who love God, all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”

(Romans 8:28 ESV)

Google defines disappointment as “sadness or displeasure caused by the nonfulfillment of one’s hopes or expectations.”

We all are disappointed at one time or another. To say I was disappointed yesterday is an understatement. But it happened, and I moved on. Disappointment is a tool of the devil. I am a child of God and don’t have to live there.

God does not want us unhappy, ill, hurting, or disappointed. But the devil does. There’s a line in a song that I can’t remember right now that says, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” I believe that the disappointment I felt yesterday was the devil trying to get to me. After an almost all-day event, I was tired but refused to let the devil get to me. God has it handled and will return what was lost. He is just that way. What the devil steals has to be returned.

So if you feel disappointed or angry or whatever, remember God has it handled. Just let it go and let God handle it.

Have a blessed day, and remember God loves you, and so do I.
