Not Enough Time

by | Feb 9, 2023 | Time

“Only fear the Lord  and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.”

(1 Samuel 12:24 ESV)

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”

(Colossians 3:23-24 ESV)

“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”

(1 Corinthians 15:58 ESV)

I have heard the phrase, and said it myself a few times, there’s not enough hours in the day. It’s not about not having enough hours, it’s about how we manage our time. If we budget our time, there might just be enough time to spare.

I have a routine every morning. I do stray from it occasionally, but for the most part, I keep with it. The first thing I do every morning is tell God good morning, then I send out the devotionals. Then I pray and read my Bible. This is all before I get up and get ready for the day. But, for me, the most important part of my day is when I am talking to God. It usually sets the tone for the day. If I’m whiny and needy, not  such a good day. But if I wake up cheerful, then it’s a good day.

No, that doesn’t always hold true because the devil will come and try to steal my joy. But it’s up to me if I let him. God likes us happy and cheerful. He wants us to spread good cheer and happiness.

The devil tried to steal my joy yesterday. I went to Walmart and a young man who was at the self check gave me a lecture on why I can’t have him check out my tax exempt items. I politely listened then went to self check out the rest. He wasn’t even going to give me a bag until I asked him for one. But see? The devil will use anyone he can to steal what he can from you. Don’t let him steal your time too.

Have a great day everyone.
