“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.(Ephesians 4:32 ESV)
“But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.”(Luke 6:35 ESV)
I went to Walmart the other morning. It was an early morning for me unfortunately. As I was wandering the store, gathering what I needed, there were some things I couldn’t find. I was in the candy aisle looking for life savers. The weren’t any on the shelf so I asked the young man stocking the shelf. He checked the shelf, just in case I missed a bag. Then he checked the stock list on his phone. Expected delivery next week. So I thanked him and went on my way. Two aisles over, he came chasing me down. He had found some buried on the cart he was unloading.
He wasn’t the only one either. I asked another about cranberry sauce. He found it for me then as I was going on, he discovered a cheaper brand and stopped me to see if I wanted it instead.
One more example. A worker checked me out at the self check. She took my groceries out to my car and put them in the trunk for me.
All 3 went over and above to help me. I was so impressed. I called and asked to speak to a manager. He was hesitant at first. But his attitude changed when I told him about my experience that morning. I let him know that every employee I met spoke and was friendly. He was going to let them know.
A little kindness goes a long way on making someone else’s life a little better. We could take a lesson out of Jesus’s playbook. He was always kind to others. If we could just be kind to others, the world would be a much better place. Let’s decide right now to spread a little kindness everywhere we go. Let’s be more like Jesus and less like the world.
Have a blessed day and spread kindness everywhere you go.”
