Stalled Walk

by | Dec 27, 2021 | Focus, Relationship

“Keep your life free from love of money and be content with what you have, for he has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.'” (Hebrews 13:5 ESV)

“Do not remember the former things. Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:18-19 NKJV)

I get stalled every once in awhile in my walk with God. When that happens, I turn to my go to scripture: “You’ve skirted this mountain long enough. Turn northward.” (Deuteronomy 2:3 NKJ) The definition of stalled, according to google is, “Stop or cause to stop making progress.” That is how I feel occasionally. I feel like I have hit a brick wall and can’t go any farther. But the funny thing is, I can feel God pulling on me, encouraging me, take another step. Just one more, then another, and another, until I free myself from what is holding me back and can move forward again.

That’s how it is writing these everyday. After writing these for 645 days now, sometimes it gets challenging to come up with subjects. But when that happens, I realize I need to let God tell me what to write on. His ideas are always better than mine anyway. There are times when I am a bit dense too. I don’t always realize I have stalled. But then God reminds me of Deuteronomy 2:3 and tells me to quit going around the same mountain. Then I repent and refocus on Him.

The devil sends distractions to lure us away from a close relationship with God. He doesn’t want us to walk closely with God or to fulfill the call on our lives. The more he can discourage us, the better he likes it. We need to stand firm against the devil. We need to focus on God more.

The new year is a week away. Let’s all decide to focus more on God and less on ourselves. Let’s kick the devil to the curb and tell him to go in Jesus name.

Have a blessed day everyone.
