Storms in Our Lives

by | Nov 10, 2021 | Deliverance, Trials

“He caused the storm to be still, so that the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad because they were quiet, so he guided them to their desired haven” (Psalm 107:29-30 ESV)

“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” (Proverbs 15:1 ESV)

Storms come and go in our lives. But we have a safe anchor. Jesus is our anchor. He keeps us safe in the middle of the storm.

“In the eye of the storm,
You remain in control
In the middle of the war,
You guard my soul
You alone are the anchor,
when my sails are torn
Your love surrounds me
in the eye of the storm.”

Eye of the Storm, by Ryan Stevenson

The above is called Eye of the Storm sung by Ryan Stevenson. It doesn’t matter what we may be going through, Jesus is in control if we let Him.

God created us with free will, so it really is our choice if we choose to let Jesus fight our battles or not. If you choose to go it alone, more power to you. But with Jesus guiding us, things work out a whole lot better.

It seems like there are a lot of “storms” right now in peoples lives. Anger and hurt feelings have become commonplace in some homes. But it doesn’t have to be. It’s time we stood up to these storms and tell them no more! No more will you control my life! No more will you hurt my family! No more!

James 4:7 says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” (ESV) So there is what you have to do to calm the storm. Submit to God and resist the devil. Easy!

So if you are fighting storms in your life, give them to God. Let Him fight them for you.

Have a great day everyone.
