Pay Attention

by | Aug 2, 2021 | Focus

“Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away.” (Hebrews 2:1 NKJV)

“Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.”
(Proverbs 4:25 NKJV)

How many times have I heard or said that? More than I can count.

I have an issue paying attention at times. If I get bored, my mind wanders. And it really should not be left to wander. I get in trouble that way.

But anyway, does your mind wander when you are doing something? How about when you’re praying or reading your Bible?

Sadly, mine does at times. I have to go back and figure out where I was when it took off on a sidetrack. I think Jesus is working hard right now to get our attention back on him. We have let our minds wander away from Him and onto the cares of the world.

We all need to give Jesus our undivided attention. We need to listen and see what is going on in the world. Then turn to Jesus for help. Some of us, I’m not saying everyone, but some have let out focus shift a little. We need to readjust, refocus and get our attention back where it belongs. On Jesus.

I know I harp on this a lot but time really is short. We don’t have a lot of time to get our lives in order and shift our attention back to Jesus. So if your attention has not slipped, yea! Keep up the good work, and smack me when mine does. But if your attention has slipped, there is still time to refocus, readjust and get your attention back where it belongs, on Jesus.

Let’s start the day right and talk to Jesus. Tell him you need his help in keeping your eyes focused on him. Just remember…God loves you and so do I. Have a great day.
