“Everyone who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” (Matthew 7:24 NKJV)
“For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Christ Jesus.” (1 Corinthians 3:11 NKJV)
The word “foundation” occurs 80 times in the Bible. Google defines foundation as “The lowest load bearing part of a building, typically below ground.” It also defines it as “An underlying basis or principle.”
I’m not a builder, but I do know that if the foundation is not strong, the building could collapse. It’s the same with our spiritual foundations.
“On Christ the solid rock I stand. All other ground is sinking sand.”
That’s the truth.
When our foundation is built on the rock, Jesus, we can stand strong. But if we build on sand, we will soon fall. Jesus is the rock that we need to anchor our foundations to. He is able to withstand whatever gets thrown our way. Jesus is our rock, He is our firm foundation. When the storms of life hit, He is there to hold us together.
But the devil wants us to build on the sand so we can’t hold on when he sends tests and trials our way. He wants us to fail. So build your foundation on Jesus. Pray and read your Bible. Jesus will never fail you if you build on Him.
