Satisfied

“And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.” (Isaiah 58:11 ESV)

“As for me, I shall behold your face in righteousness; when I awake, I shall be satisfied with your likeness.” (Psalm 17:15 ESV)

I was listening to YouTube, trying to clear my head, when The Gaither Vocal Group came on singing Satisfied, Hallelujah!

“Hallelujah! I have found Him
Whom my soul so long has craved!
Jesus satisfies my longings;
Through His life I now am saved.”

That was from the song. It got me to thinking. Am I satisfied? Am I happy?

I should say yes but I can’t. I am not satisfied but I am happy. I am happy that I know Jesus and that he is my Savior. I am happy that he loves me too. But I am not satisfied. I want more. Not worldly things even though there things I would like, I can live without them. I want more of God! I want more! I am not satisfied.

We used to sing a song which I can’t remember right now. All I remember is “I’m not satisfied with yesterdays power….in this last hour.” If you know the song, please send me the words.

But I’m not satisfied with yesterdays power. I crave more. I want more. But to get more, I have to do more. So here’s my plan. I am going to spend more time with my nose in the Bible. I am going to spend more time in prayer. I don’t go much of anywhere so why not? It beats watching TV.

So I challenge you. Start spending more time in prayer and reading the Bible. A lot of the times I read the Bible I see something I didn’t see before. So let’s start this challenge together. What do you have to lose? Just a bit of time well spent.
