I visited a site with my uncle earlier this year at a rocky and mountainous region in Oyo state. We went there to supervise the job and to ensure that it was done to the satisfaction of the client.
The operation we went to supervise was to bore a hole deep into the ground that it might become a reservoir where water can be pumped and fetched for various uses.
I was among the threesome that went to supervise the site. I was happy and giddy with joy. Why? It was my first time visiting a site where boreholes are constructed. It was my first rodeo and I couldn’t wait to enjoy it.
My uncle’s friend was the driver and he drove us expertly to the site over rocky areas, sloppy land and uphill until we got to the location, the borehole truck driving gently and following our own car that was navigating the course of the road.
We got there very early in the morning looking fresh and immaculate. The workers who will be operating the borehole truck alighted off the truck and started dismantling and compiling the parts of the machine that it may be ready for use.
We left the site in the dead of the evening, the operators had to dig deep past over eight layers of the soil strata before they broke through the final layer and water started flowing.
It was a lovely experience for me. I got the chance to watch as water was pumped out of the soil, from dirty water to pure and clean water that I am sure will taste sweet and be refreshing when gulped.
I realized on our way back home, though tired and weary that this is the same way we had to dig our well in every area of our lives. It takes a lot of preparation to dig a well. You have to have all the instruments needed and you must be skillful in their use and implementation in order to make use of them. And if you then possess all the technical skills, you must be patient enough to follow the process of time for you to dig through all the barriers preventing you from reaching the fountain that is pure and full of sweetness.
To dig our well into the presence of God, we have to use the tools that have been given to us to press into him, we must use the Word, prayer and fasting and while doing this, we must do it with the whole of our heart. We must use the tool of honor to bolster our relationship with God, man and the principles of life.
And as we use these tools, we must be patient enough to follow the process of time for the results to manifest and for us to drink from the well of abundance, blessing and prosperity.
So that our well will be fruitful like the one at the site of Elim. Yea! Our well will become a well of life where anyone that drinks from it will never thirst again.
In God’s Love,
