Lessons on Relationship From Solomon Part 6: Unit 1: God’s Part in the Relationship, Part B: How Much God Desires to be with Us: One Look God’s Way…

by | Nov 21, 2015 | Lessons on Relationships From Solomon (A Mini-Series), Uncategorized

HTML clipboard In last week’s lesson on how much God desires to be with us, we discovered the truth from Song of Solomon 2:8,9 that God longs to be with us so much that He comes “vaulting the mountains, leaping the hills.” He stands “on tiptoe at the gate” waiting for that chance to speak to us. That’s how much He longs for our company and companionship! Now let’s look at what Song of Solomon 4:9:

“You’ve captured my heart, dear friend. You looked at me, and I fell in love. One look my way and I was hopelessly in love!” (Song 4:9 from THE MESSAGE: The Bible in Contemporary Language © 2002 by Eugene H. Peterson. All rights reserved.)

Imagine this: You’re standing in the airport, waiting for the one you love to come off the plane. He (or she!) Has been away for a few days, and you’ve missed him (or her!) Sorely! The doors open, and people from the same flight begin to exit into the baggage claim area. You stand on your tiptoes, trying to see over the heads of the crowd, hoping to catch a glimpse of that familiar face, that memorable stance, that peculiar jaunt that you know and love so much. And then, in the back of the line, waiting to file through the door, you see him (or her!!) . . . You heart flips over, your pulse races, and you realize anew just how much you are in love!

Maybe you’ve experienced this scenario, or one that is similar, and maybe you’ve only watched it on T.V. Maybe this is the kind of love you are searching for and have never found. Maybe you have given up on ever finding this kind of love!

Good news my friends! This is how God sees YOU! “You looked at me, and I fell in love.” All you have to do is look in God’s direction, and He falls in love with you all over again! I can just see His heart beating faster, His palms starting to sweat in eager anticipation of the time that He longs to spend with each of you. “One look my way and I was hopeless in love!” That’s how much He longs for your company. That’s how much He desires your companionship!

Don’t disappoint the God of the universe, my friend! Reach out to Him! Look His way! Give Him your time! You will NEVER regret the time you spend with God!

Enough to ponder for today. Please DO ponder this though, my friends. Ponder the truth that all we have to do is look in God’s direction for Him to fall in love with us all over again! That’s how much He longs for our company and companionship! Please join us next Saturday for Lessons on Relationships From Solomon, Lesson 7!

In His love,

Lyn
