I am old and full of days,
But I will not forget.
I will sing a song of praise!
Messiah I have met!

He did things,
That no one else will ever do again!
He is King of kings,
And Lord of lords, above all other men!

Jesus! Jesus! I’ll never be the same!
I once swore that I never knew His name!
In our empty fishing boat, a miracle occurred!
Suddenly, the boat was full, at the Master’s word!

“Depart from me, a sinful man,” I began to pray,
He said, “You will fish for men, the way you caught the fish today.”
Jesus! Jesus! I’ll never be the same!
I once swore, I never knew His name!

Once, I saw a girl who died,
And Jesus took her hand.
“Get up, little girl!” He cried,
And she began to stand!

He can raise the dead, and yet, some people won’t believe!
They would rather follow someone willing to deceive!
Jesus! Jesus! I’ll never be the same!
I once swore, I never knew His name!

One stormy night, when we thought we would be drowned,
Jesus walked upon the waves, as if they were the ground!
“If it is my Lord,” I said, “Then let me come to thee!”
“Come!” He said, and then I walked with Jesus on the sea!

Jesus! Jesus! I’ll never be the same!
I once swore that I never knew His name!
“I know you are the Son of God!” I had once confessed.
He told me that by the Father, I was truly blessed!

He said the gates of hell could not withstand what I had said.
I saw Him cast out demons! I saw Him raise the dead!
Jesus! Jesus! I’ll never be the same!
I once swore that I never knew His name!

Once, He kept reminding us, that He would have to die.
“This is foolish talk,” I said, “and this I will deny!”
“Get behind me Satan!” Jesus said, to my surprise.
I just could not understand the anger in His eyes!

Jesus! Jesus! I’ll never be the same!
I once swore that I never knew His name!
Once, upon a mountain, we saw Jesus shine with light!
Moses and Elijah too, were there before our sight!

I said, “Let’s build three tabernacles, for everybody here!”
The voice of God said, “Hear my Son!”, and I was filled with fear!
Jesus! Jesus! I’ll never be the same!
I once swore that I never knew His name!

Jesus told us that a traitor would send Him to the cross!
We could not believe that we could suffer such a loss!
I said, “I would go to prison! I would even die for you!”
“You will deny me thrice,” He said, “before this night is through!”

Jesus! Jesus! I’ll never be the same!
I once swore that I never knew His name!”
I could hear them laughing! I could hear them slap His face!
I began to be afraid, of facing His disgrace!

“You are surely one of his!” they all began to jeer.
“I swear to God, that I am not!” I said in my shame and fear!
Jesus! Jesus! I’ll never be the same!
I once swore, I never knew your name!

Jesus turned around, and then He looked me in the eye!
“Before the rooster even crows, my name you will deny!”
I swore by God Almighty, “This man I do not know!”
And when He turned to look at me, I heard the rooster crow!

Jesus! Jesus! I’ll never be the same!
I once swore, I never knew your name!
On the cross He cried, “My God! Why have you forsaken me!”
No one answered, as he cried, and died in agony!

Everything was over, as I buried my best friend!
Why was I so cowardly, as Jesus faced His end!
Jesus! Jesus! I’ll never be the same!
I once swore, that I never knew His name!

We were hiding from the Jews, when to our great surprise,
There he stood alive and well, right there before our eyes!
And when we saw His hands and feet, we knew that it was true!
No one else had ever known, the happiness we knew!

Jesus! Jesus! I’ll never be the same!
I once swore, that I never knew his name!
I can still remember when, He left and said goodbye.
He blessed us all, and then he slowly rose into the sky.

He told us, we would reach the world, in the power of His Name!
But first we were to wait, until the Holy Spirit came.
Jesus! Jesus! I’ll never be the same!
I once swore, that I never knew His name!

One day, in an upper room, we all began to pray.
Something strange began to happen, on that special day!
Power came, like burning flame, and touched us one and all!
Like sailing ships before the wind, we heard the Spirit call!

Holy, Spirit, we’ll never be the same!
You were, sent to, us in Jesus’ Name!
We all started praising God, in languages unknown!
Everybody heard us in a language of their own!

“They are praising God in words that I can understand!
They are praising God to every tribe from every land!”
Holy Spirit, we’ll never be the same!
You were sent to us in Jesus’ name!

Many people came to know the Lord they crucified!
When they knew what they had done, many of them cried.
We did mighty miracles, that no one could deny.
We were life to some, while others wanted us to die!

Holy Spirit, we’ll never be the same!
You were sent to us in Jesus’ Name!
Once, there was a crippled man, who reached his hand to me.
“No, I don’t have money, sir, but what I give is free!

In the Name of Jesus Christ, I order you to stand!”
Through the mighty Holy Spirit, he followed my command!
Holy Spirit, we’ll never be the same!
You were sent to us in Jesus’ Name!

We were beaten by the elders, because of what they saw.
“Preaching in the name of Jesus, is against our law!”
“We will preach in Jesus’ Name, and we will preach again!
We will follow God, and disobey the rules of men!”

Jesus! Jesus! We’ll never be the same!
We can do all things in Your Great Name!
Once I met a sorcerer who was quite well known.
He tried to buy the Holy Spirit and make Him his very own!

“May you perish with your money!” I said in reply.
“Pray to God for me,” he begged, “so that I may not die!”
Holy Spirit, we’ll never be the same!
You were sent to us in Jesus’ Name!

I had always thought that God would choose the Jewish race.
I had never thought that God would show the Gentiles grace!
When I was with Cornelius, the Holy Spirit came!
All that I was taught was swept away in Jesus’ name!

Holy Spirit, they’ll never be the same!
You were sent to them in Jesus’ Name!
Through the Holy Spirit, I brought Dorcas from the grave!
Then when my friend James was killed, him I could not save!

I was put in prison too, and I thought I was done!
But something strange occurred before the rising of the sun!
Jesus! Jesus! I’m really not the same!
I did go to prison in your name!

Late that night,
An angel’s light,
Was with me in that cell!
Then the angel touched me, and from my hands, my shackles fell.

All the saints were praying as I walked up to their gate.
All the saints could not believe that God’s power was so great!
Jesus! Jesus! I’ll never be the same!
I once swore that I never knew Your Name!

Now my Jesus, I am old. They take me out to die.
I won’t let you down this time! Your Name I won’t deny!
Thank you, Lord, for giving me, another chance to show,
I no longer need to fear, to hear the rooster crow!

Jesus! Jesus! I’ll never be the same!
I will die so men may know your Name!
